Getting to and from Camon
We know that travel logistics can be stressful, especially if you’ve never been to your destination before. Thankfully, you don’t need to figure out how to get to and from camp all on your own — we can do it together!
The most important part is to know where camp is and how to contact us on your travel day if needed.

Getting to France
TIP: Book any flights 3-6 months before your camp arrival date to secure the best available price.
Booking flights can be intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be. To get to France we recommend finding your flight through a price comparison website like Kayak or Skyscanner. Those websites make it easy to compare prices across airlines and choose the best one that works for you. Book your flight directly with the airline you choose, not through a third party website.
There are three options to fly into to give you easy access to get to Camon. The first is Toulouse, the second is Paris, and the third is Carcassonne. There are other cities you could fly into internationally (Barcelona, Amsterdam, and London have a wide variety of international flights) but landing at Paris, Toulouse, or Carcassonne offers the simplest connections to camp.
If you fly into Toulouse
From Toulouse, we offer a shuttle service that will take you from Toulouse Airport directly to the doors of the château (at no extra cost). The ride lasts about two hours. Booking a transfer shuttle can be done through your booking portal (see next section).
If you fly into Paris
We recommend taking a train to Toulouse from Paris. Trainline is a great site that lets you compare prices across different trains to book the one that suits you best.
Your train journey will likely be broken up into multiple train rides, and you might have to make changes along your journey so just make sure you’re paying attention when you book your ticket.
After arriving at Toulouse Train Station, you’ll need to take a city shuttle (Navette) or a cab to Toulouse Airport to get on your free shuttle to camp.
All shuttle journeys with us need to be booked at least three weeks prior to your arrival date. Book your shuttle through your booking portal. (below)
If you fly into Carcassonne
If you're travelling or connecting through the UK you might find that Carcassonne is an affordable flight option. However, there is no train connection from Carcassonne to Camon. Instead, you can rent a car from the car rental options at the airport. The drive from Carcassonne to Camon is a beautiful one, too!
There are car rental options conveniently located at the Carcassonne Airport, and if this is the route you’re going, we highly recommend booking your rental car in advance before arriving. This will prevent any inventory issues with cars and ensure the car you want is the one you get on the day of.
Tips for train travel
If you decide to take a train for the rest of your journey to camp, then Trainline is a great site that, again, lets you compare prices across different trains to book the one that suits you best.
Check layover times between trains to make sure you have time to change platforms
Arrive at least 10 minutes before your train’s departure time
Track your stops with Trainline or SNCF app
Grab a snack from the train station to enjoy on your scenic ride
Book transfer shuttles to/from Figeac train station in your booking portal
NOTE: The shuttle from Toulouse to Béduer is a paid service and not included in the cost of camp. The ride from Toulouse to camp lasts about two hours.

Renting a car
Renting a car and winding your own way through the French countryside is also a wonderful journey!

Necessary travel documents
Check your passport’s expiration date!
Before arriving in France, make sure that your passport is fully up to date. This means that the expiration date on your passport is more than three months after your intended departure date from France.
For example, if you have a departure flight to leave France after camp on May 31st, 2026, then your passport must be valid at least until August 31st, 2026.
For some countries, it is more, and you are required to have 6 months or even 1 year of extra time before your passport expires.
Check your travel requirements before planning your trip

See general international arrival regulations: Arrival in France
If you are traveling from the US, check ETIAS updates: ETIAS FAQs
If there is a sudden change in French visa regulations, we will try to notify campers accordingly.
Travel insurance
Traveling internationally? = Be insured
Yes! We highly recommend obtaining travel insurance before any trip abroad.
There are many companies out there that provide excellent travel insurance coverage for trips, and we suggest exploring options to find a travel insurance provider that works for you.
TIP: Some banks provide access to travel insurance at a cheaper cost, so you might already be eligible for affordable coverage through your bank or credit card provider.
Coverage looks different for each company and depends on what you choose for yourself, but it's worth it when travelling internationally
