April: Spreading the word!

Camp Château Newsletter

April 1st, 2023

Hello Campers, Founding Members and the Château Curious,

Vincent, our groundsman, is very busy getting the gardens ready and opening up the pools. The rosemary and lavender bushes are starting to sprout fresh new branches and this summer is going to be heavy with their heavenly scent!

This month we asked Vincent to plant some additional herbs for our summer camp activities and he has built beautiful beds and started plantings of mint, lemon balm, chamomile, sage, thyme, oregano and basil. At the château the orchards are blossoming now that the winter chill is gone and we are already getting excited about the future crops of plums, apples, pears, persimmons and figs.

In March we kicked off our advertising campaign and Instagram and Facebook lit up! We were so happy to see the wonderful comments on our ads as women all over the world tagged their friends and shared their excitement about Camp Château.

We added over a thousand new subcribers to our newsletter in just the first couple of weeks of advertising - Hello New Subscribers, welcome to the fun!

Our summer 2023 camp sessions are filling up nicely and we still have a few bunk and glamping slots available for July 4th, 11th, 18th, 26th, August 1st, 8th - if you haven’t booked yet, grab them while you can!

We are getting a lot of campers already asking about our 2024 dates and we will be releasing those at the end of April.

In the meantime, did you know that you can lock in our 2023 price for next summer by buying a gift card which can be used for any future camp session? Buy one for yourself and gift yourself camp for next summer.

Our press coverage has started to really pick up and in March we were featured in lots of fun places!

Early in March, I had a really personal conversation with the fabulous Una Doyle on her She Leads Business podcast. We chatted about my own journey - from childhood, to law, to banking, to my passion for inclusion and to Camp Château and you can hear it all in ‘From LA Law to Camp Chateau: Transforming Adversity into Opportunity With Philippa Girling’

I also chatted in March with the lovely Jackie Zuk about how Camp Château came to be and what we are all about on her Becoming Next on Scene podcast - you can listen on AppleSpotifyiHeart radio or Amazon music and you can also watch the whole conversation on YouTube.

In the next few weeks we will be posting our new Press Page on our website so that you can see all of the places that people are talking about us!

Meanwhile, preparations for summer are continuing at a fast pace. The lovely new shower room in the château is finished and Di and Steve (our Property Manager couple) have also found and renovated a bathroom up by the hammock area next to La Fermette. Di has christened it “Ma Belle Toubiere” (translation: My Beautiful Bog).

The bunk room beds have arrived and we will be sharing pictures of a set up bunk room and glamping tent in the next couple of weeks.

Our Camp Director, Tegwen has been finalizing the Camp Counselor interviews. We have met some amazing candidates and we will be able to share the names and profiles of our selected counselors with you very soon! We are sure you are going to love them as much as we do!

Are you following us on social media? Please follow and like us using our social links below and help to spread the word and celebrate what we are building as a women owned, funded, designed and dedicated business. The more you like and share, the more we can reach women who would love to be part of Camp Château.

If you would like to become a Founding member, you can learn more here and I am always delighted to set up time to chat about how you can invest in our women owned business.

Finally, when I chat with people, they often ask me “How did you find the property for the Camp Château summer camp for women?” Actually, I think it found us and you can read all about that in an article that I posted this month on Medium: How did a Château find us?

I hope to see you this summer!

Cordialement,

Philippa Girling (CEO & Co-Founder)
